Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, the tree looming over our layout building was removed recently and operations can proceed forth safely! Our deepest appreciation for those who quickly sent in donations to take care of this unplanned cost.
Our next Regular Monthly SACOM Meeting will be Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. Come on down, see what’s new with the layout, catch up with friends and run some trains!
And, our SACOM layout’s next Period Operating Session will be Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 13th, beginning at 11 a.m. The era for operation will be Feb. 13, 1965… meaning blue and yellow C&O diesel power, both red and yellow C&O cabooses, and any appropriate freight equipment. BRING YOUR BLUE DIESELS! Some of our members have a great collection of DCC 1950-1965 C&O diesels, so we hope you’ll bring several sets for operation.
We’ll be running all traffic: Coal and manifest, local freight and through passenger trains. Come on down on Superbowl Sunday anytime between 11 and 3 P.M. and run some trains! (And yes, the photo (by Jesse Smith) is too modern.)
